All our organically grown fruits are certified as organic, but also have a Global Gap certificate and often a social certification like SMETA;, GRASP or FAIRTRADE. We regularly carry out appropriate controls to ensure compliance with all the requirements for organic cultivation.
Our organic Hass variety avocados grow under the same climatic conditions as their conventional counterparts. We obtain the fruit over 12 months of the year mainly from Peru, Kenya, Spain and Mexico.
Avocados when they start turning dark (black / dark rasin tones) most of the time indicates a perfect degree of ripening. After arrival in Europe, Avocados are then slowly ripened in heat-based ripening rooms for about 3 to 5 days which will yield the perfect creamy and ready to enjoy avocados.
When ripe, the "Hass" variety in particular, stored in the refrigerator at approx. 6° C, stays fresh for a few days - without losing its taste or consistency! For the perfect taste experience, however, it should be stored at room temperature one hour before consumption.
Tip: in order to minimise unwanted oxidation (contact between flesh and air turning the top layers darker), store the leftover avocado with the pit still attached to the flesh in a container box inside the fridge.
