All our organically grown fruits are certified as organic, but also have a Global Gap certificate and often a social certification like SMETA;, GRASP or FAIRTRADE. We regularly carry out appropriate controls to ensure compliance with all the requirements for organic cultivation.
Our organic Kent, Keitt, Palmer and Osteen mangoes grow under the same climatic conditions as their conventional counterparts. We obtain the fruit over 12 months of the year mainly from Peru, West Africa, the Caribbean and Spain.
After arrival of our organic mangoes in Rotterdam, they are brought to maturity in our ripening chambers, heat-controlled in 3-5 days. The mango develops a wonderful aroma even before it is fully ripe. Many appreciate the somewhat firmer bite. However, if you like them fully ripe and a little softer, you should check whether the mango gives way a little when you press it lightly with your finger - then it is just right.
During refrigerated transport, mangos are kept at 10°C. Ripe mangos can be stored at around 12°C for a few days, but should be eaten as soon as possible.
